Rusk Rehabilitation Center is a partnership between University of Missouri Healthcare and HealthSouth. In addition to treatment focused on limiting disability, promoting independence, and restoring function, Rusk Rehabilitation Center also participates in research and education. Rusk features both a Spinal Cord Injury Program and a Brain Injury Program. In both programs, therapy is individualized and provided by a multidisciplinary team comprising physiatrists, rehabilitation nurses, case managers, physical therapists, occupational therapists, speech/language pathologists, respiratory therapists, and neuropsychologists. Rusk Rehabilitation Center is accredited by the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations (JCAHO), as well as the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF).

Barnes Jewish Hospital, in partnership with the Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis, offers a neurological rehabilitation program that accepts patients with brain and spinal cord injury. All programs are individualized based on patient need, and in addition to returning to maximum function may include assistance with daily activities, speech therapy, bladder and bowel retraining, stress and depression management, mobility and exercise programs, social and behavioral skills retraining, nutritional counseling, and vocational counseling. In all programs, families are encouraged to be a part of the patient' s interdisciplinary team. Barnes Jewish Hospital is accredited by the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations (JCAHO), as well as the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF). Services are available for people of all ages, and focus on helping individuals progress to their highest physical, social, and vocational potentials. The Rehabilitation Institute of Kansas City is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF). It is also certified as a Comprehensive Outpatient Rehabilitation Facility (CORF), which makes it eligible for Medicare reimbursement for outpatient services.
