VCU Rehabilitation and Research Center is a partnership between the Medical College of Virginia Hospital and the Virginia Commonwealth University Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation. The 27-bed center provides interdisciplinary rehabilitation, education, advocacy, and research for patients with brain and spinal cord injury. The Medical Hospital of Virginia holds federal designation from NIDRR as a Model System of Care for both Brain Injury and Spinal Cord Injury. Both programs are also part of the Critical Pathway program, which handles care from the time of injury through reentry into the community. VCU Rehabilitation and Research Center is accredited by the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations (JCAHO), as well as the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF).
