The Medical Rehabilitation Center at Charleston Area Medical Center offers inpatient and outpatient rehabilitation services to patients with brain and spinal cord injury. In addition to access to the Charleston Area Medical Center' s 500 physicians, patients who attend the 40-bed center are treated by physiatrists who hold the Functional Independence Measure Certification. The interdisciplinary team at the center works with the patient, as well as the patient' s family and doctor, to come up with an individualized treatment plan designed to return the patient to a maximum level of function and independence. The Medical Rehabilitation Center at Charleston Area Medical Center is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF).
