New NIH TBI Classification (2025-2026)

The National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke published the first new clinical characterization for acute TBI in over 50 years. The "CBI-M" model (Clinical, Biomarkers, Imaging, Modifiers) replaces the old mild/moderate/severe system with a precision medicine approach. No two patients have the exact same experience with TBI.
